Tonglen Meditation

Today I have something super special to share with you about how I recently started using the Tonglen meditation method in my everyday life. Now I literally found out about this through the women entrepreneur conference I attended about a week or more ago and at first I thought oh sounds too easy, it cant possibly work. Firstly let me just say I am usually the most optimistic person in the room. I always try to see the positive in every situation.

Meet Beauty Blogger Hannah!

I will be the first to admit I have been barely reading much blogs as of late, so when I ended up waking up at 3 am the other day. I decided to silently indulge in some blog reading. So off I went to Hbbeauty blog and next minute I notice time had flown. I can never get enough of good quality beauty blogs or vlogs. I love reading reviews and beauty related tags. Hannah's blog delivers both.

Good Morning World

Literally sitting knee deep in negative thoughts about some "bumps in the road" I have been a part of lately I get this perfect email reminding me to remain optimistic and grateful. I don't know if you have ever had a situation where you kind of feel like your life is perfectly balanced and then all of a sudden there's a change in your life and the calmness that once was consistent, no longer is.

My Summer List

Since summer is starting very soon (mid October) in South Africa I have started a mental list of things I wish to do. I personally always feel a tad bit depressed in winter I could even go as far as to say lazy. I just never feel motivated to do much in the cold months, my workouts suffer, my baking slacks and lets not mention the effect the weather has on how much wine I drink when its cold and gloomy.

So whats been keeping me motivated to smile a whole lot more is a list I started making of various things I want to do this summer because really who doesn't look forward to planning fun times ahead.

Happy Heritage day!

The craziest thing about being with someone who is not from South Africa, one see's Africa in a whole other light. What I would take for granted or only see as mediocre he see's as amazing like Shisa nyama which honestly I have never tried or even thought of trying. Its kind of like buying meat from a butcher and then just throwing it on an open fire literally next to the butcher, basically an informal braai.

Something I learned this last week

This past week I have taken some complete alone time to really listen to what my inner voice has been trying to tell me. For quite some time I have been having this nagging voice saying to me 'Megs go back to the drawing board'. If you like me you will always have the thought just push through just push through. But here's the thing if you listen to your inner voice, that inner nudge, you might just have a break through that often feels like a break down haha. You not alone I have been there. Recently!

Life is a daring adventure or...

With the weekend right on our doorstep it becomes impossible not to feel all warm and fuzzy inside. We get to plan our free time where we get to do what we want when we want or when we get to do what we need done in order to create some tranquility in our life. But every now and then there is just that extra something exciting happening, like loved ones you hardly get to see coming to town. Which is exactly what I am so thrilled about.

Life has been really fun (for a lack of a better word) lately, and since I have been so super quiet on the blog lately I decided to share some pictures of my life these last 2 months.

Some Weekend Reading

This week has literally flown right past me. I have to apologize for the silence *insert cricket noise here* I have been busy trying to sort out my life outside of the blogging world, sorry lovelies. However every once in a while I would still sneak minutes here and there to read some awesome posts from some of my favorite blogs. I hope you guys enjoy the following posts as much as I did.
