  1. I fully agree, content is key.
I love writing, so the words come easy for me. But I have also come across some blogs with little words and more pictures. It's all about what you display and how you do it.
I've learned this very quickly as a new blogger.

  2. Hi Meghan, Great Tips!!! I just wanted to say that I love your blog, and read it daily! I thought it might be nice if you do a post or activity like for example, a pen pal match up or even a portrait project via your blog(I know the blogger from "Lucky Pony" did it and it was a huge success). What do you think?!? Have a fantastic week :) xxx

  3. good food for thought.
I quickly get over blogs that are pictures only, or post the same things over and over again.
That said, I do need to work on my content

    1. Yeah I do too I feel disconnected from the actual blogger like Beck said last week on the blogging 101 post , readers don't want to just sit and watch in awe ... she was right , I hate sitting and being unable to "get" the blogger.

  4. I definitely think that content is important as well communicating with your readers. As a blogger you don't want to publish posts just to have something to say, blogging is similar to life, people only want to keep those that are adding value to them around.

    Nice post

  5. What a fab post! I totally agree about content. Anyone can post a bunch of pictures, but if there is no voice behind the blog with meaningful insight and personality, how are you really drawn to always come back? I think great content is definitely what makes people intrigued on a regular basis. Thanks so much for your wonderful comment today and I hope you have a really good MOnday! Talk soon dear!!! xx Pip

    1. There really does have to be a voice a human being , because way to often blogs with 99% pictures and 1% words feels very robot like and no one is going to feel engaged to a robot , right? its my pleasure I really loved the look today xo

  6. This was a really interesting post and I'd have to say it's a bit or both! Social media gets your blog out there, but it's the content that keeps peoples attention

  8. I agree about the content completely - in fact I don't really have much of a social media presence at all which is something I need to work on, but at the moment because my blog is only a few weeks old I'm really focused on creating content. I love photos but I heard a great tip before that said your voice should stand out just as much as your photos, that the words alone should be enough and the pictures only a pretty addition.

Also Meghan, its nice to know I'm not the only one who gets a bit homesick - thanks

    1. Yes you can't advertise your blog and have no content and you can't have brilliant content and not tell anyone about them .

  11. Hi dear!

I think the content means that we have more interaction with readers than just pictures do! The images complement good content and leave the post more interesting, so both have to go together.

  16. Hello Meghan!
Content should always be your first priority, but social media is an invaluable asset. It's so hard to find a balance between both of them. I still have trouble between paying the enough attention to the social platforms without leaving the blog aside. I have found myself spending hours posting on Facebook, Google +, Twitter and ... more and then realizing I haven't added anything new to the blog.
