DIY Vitamin C Serum

I am obsessed with trying out new beauty related DIY's especially if I know I have the ingredients in the kitchen. I think its awesome when one can know exactly what you using on something as precious as your skin and very often they give you the benefits of some of the best beauty store bought products. I have mentioned before I love using my homemade Lemon scrub weekly but recently I started making my own Vitamin C Serum and lo and behold my breakouts seem to have totally improved and the marks along with it seems to be fading away pretty fast. I have to say I give full credit to this recipe to the blog delighted momma but I will add some side notes to the recipe.

In preparation for Spring/Summer

Spring will soon be on our doorstep and I am thrilled because that means summer will soon be here too, I don't mind the rain, I don't mind the heat and I sure don't mind wearing less layers and feeling like you need to jump in some kind of body of cold water even if its just a refreshing cold shower. I really don't mind any of it. Cocktails just aren't as good in winter as they are on a warm summers day, right?

I have started preparing for the warmer weather with the basic beauty pampering and fitness, taking care of my skin, trying to find a sunscreen that works for my skin (still searching) working out, lets face it if you take care of certain things now you will have less to stress about in spring and summer. Here's what I have been doing:

Things about me TAG

~subtly pointing to where I want to be ;p~

I recently got tagged by Claudz in a post and it comes with some fun questions, I just couldn't resist answering the tag. I know recently I have been posting tons of answers and I hope you not bored of it, but currently I'm just in the answering to liebster questions, deep thinking and now tag posts bear with me while i'm in this mind frame. I must admit i'm super excited to answer these questions and to join the fun, so lets get started on the questions.

1. If you could choose one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Confidence or Vanity?

Confidence ... one word that gets the attention of both men and women. While sitting and totally procrastinating browsing the net seeing what my favorite stylish celebs are up to I realized that the reason I don't post pictures of me too often on the blog is for a fear that since I am not a fashion blog, will I be considered vain? I know its totally my own little issue. But here's the question I have when does confidence turn into vanity. Just recently I was called vain because I was so caught up with the fact that I had a ugly breakout thanks to sunscreen usage(what face sunscreen do you use ladies?)! So I have to ask what do you consider the fine line between confidence and vanity?

Dancing in the RAIN & a GIVEAWAY

A few weeks ago I got sent some Rain Africa products and anyone who knows me knows I am addicted to beauty products, I take long candle lit baths, use masks and well just love all things pamper related. First off let me just say I adore the fact that Rain Africa products is African-Inspired and words like "Its about living, naturally" is something that adorns the labels of their products, not to mention packaged in a recyclable and reusable package. Now I have really been taking my sweet time indulging in my package, I mean lets be honest I can't just get it one day and the next day give an honest review, oh no not me. I like to see how my skin reacts, see my hair's approval so please forgive me for this delayed review, but trust me its so worth the wait.

No absolute standard of beauty

This is going to be just a short and sweet post I saw this awesome quote yesterday and I knew I had to share it. I hope that the weeks been good to you, if it hasn't maybe today is a good time to do something entirely just for you, bake you favorite treat, pour that glass of wine, try out that new face mask you've been wanting to whip up, have coffee with a friend, you'll be surprised how those little moments can lift up ones spirits. There's no point in just living to get through the week to enjoy 2 days (the weekend) of fun. Its up to you to make every single day a smile worthy one, well at least that's my humble opinion on the matter.

"There is certainly no absolute standard of beauty. That precisely is what make its pursuit so interesting." John Galbraith

From Durban with love.

I just got back from a blissful Durban trip with the boyf and friends it was so much fun makes me miss the chilled coastal life but this trip was exactly what I needed, I actually think its exactly what we all needed, only terrible part was the traffic going and coming, so insane. So what fun things did we get up to? Bunnies (not an actual bunny) at Ushaka Marine world, some went surfing, kite fun by the way how awesome is flying a kite on the beach ?? loved it, some day drinking and obviously more eating with new and old friends and my lovely sister, such a ton of absolute fun!

In other news , I'm trying to figure out what new series can replace the blogging 101 series, so if you new and haven't checked it out , do so :) you might like it.

So what fun things did you get up to this weekend ?

Secret Single Behavior

So I have been really thinking about secret single behavior and one thing that really made its way to the top of the list is we don't like doing our beauty routine around the men in our life and I also realized men do not like to divulge what their SSB is , I remember watching an episode of Sex and the city , you know where Aiden moves in with Carrie and his stuff is all over and Carrie basically is having a mini melt down . I actually have lived with a guy , my guy at the time drove me insane "where are you going ? why are you on your phone? he was like over kill I would find tons of excuses as to why I needed to go OUT , like buying one toilet roll at a time kind of excuses hahaha (sorry mr x but you know its true ) but here's my question I mean I know many of you are living with your bfs or are married so I have to know , is it really that hard ?

Blogging 101 : Is posting regularly important?

This happens to be the very last Blogging 101 series , I must say it has been such a pleasure to work with Jacy , Jezz , Laura , Marie, Erin , Kierra and Becky thank you so much to all of you ladies for making this series a huge success, this week the topic is one which many bloggers don't agree on , how often should one post . I'll add my pennies at the end of the post but for now lets hear what  Laura ,  Marie and Jacy have to say on the matter .

This is how we do it ...

So this video basically embodies how I woke up and feel today (well most Fridays) I danced all the way to the bathroom and danced while making coffee and danced all the way back to my laptop , I love Fridays . I'm convinced the F in Fridays stand for FUN . Even if I have no plans on a Friday I know I can pop open some champagne or have some wine and not feel like a total alcoholic because I'm really just celebrating making it through the week. Right?

So no weekend reading from my side (spotty internet is making it pretty impossible to find awesome new reads) this week instead I will say my favorite thing "do something different" and let me know in the comments what you think you might want to get up to tonight or this weekend or what you wish you could be doing this weekend . I guess for me since I recently started dating someone after my super long hiatus from dating , every day seems to be pretty different to my usual routine and I like it . Ooooh next week I want to talk about Secret Single Behavior so I will be taking to Twitter to get the conversation going so be sure to follow me and get involved .

Have a gorgeous weekend !!!
