Spring will soon be on our doorstep and I am thrilled because that means summer will soon be here too, I don't mind the rain, I don't mind the heat and I sure don't mind wearing less layers and feeling like you need to jump in some kind of body of cold water even if its just a refreshing cold shower. I really don't mind any of it. Cocktails just aren't as good in winter as they are on a warm summers day, right?
I have started preparing for the warmer weather with the basic beauty pampering and fitness, taking care of my skin, trying to find a sunscreen that works for my skin (still searching) working out, lets face it if you take care of certain things now you will have less to stress about in spring and summer. Here's what I have been doing:
Skin : good skin means less makeup and I don't know about you but in scorching heat I don't want to still be sitting with layers of makeup on. So i'v started using Ponds again, to lighten any acne spots and just to even out my complexion, I'v been drinking tons of water and started becoming strict again with washing my face twice a day, I only struggle with this on the weekends. Sunscreen has been a nightmare however Desle (read comments) and Elle had some awesome sunscreen suggestions which I will be trying.
Body : I have been working my ass off, literally my ass is off haha I kid I kid, but I have made it a priority to work out more often combining cardio lots of dead lifts and yoga, girls!! I want to be rocking crop tops and shorts proudly.
Eating : well I still indulge every now and then but when the sweet cravings hit I end up making the protein pancakes I told you about, I just add fruit nuts and honey and trust me it tastes amazing. I guess healthy eating wise I could totally improve.
There's so much I am looking forward to like picnics, braai's, markets, cocktails, being tanned, trying my hand at making ice cream and whipping up some summer eats. So here's a question for you, what preparations have you done for the warmer months and have you been loving every minute of it my international readers? and for those who are waiting patiently for summer what have you been up to, to prepare for the warmer seasons.
