10 Things I wish I knew before I started blogging

10 things I wish I knew before blogging, including discussing blogging misconceptions. Social media and blog growth go hand in hand and more.

The blog life is one major misconception. Whenever I even mention I am a blogger the looks are like wait whaaat even though bloggers are everywhere these days. Everyone outside of the blog world thinks running a blog is the easiest thing ever. While I can openly admit the blog life is one fun little world, the work it involves takes hours to get right especially if blog growth is what you working for. Content creation starts and ends way before sitting at your computer and did you know spreading word about your blog is more than just posting?

If you a blogger I can already see you nodding your head.

Yes you will find us always on our social media, we probably wake up and reach for our phone to check emails way to often. Yes we invest way to much time (in your opinion) taking pictures of literally like everything. We often even seem anti social, snapping away and on our phones and gush in at nearly all things beautiful. On the real though we basically multi tasking like crazy. You know the deal bloggers, an  idea pops in your head and you have to jot it down and then maybe even start writing the post intro just so you don't forget what direction you were thinking of going with that topic. Like I said we multi tasking.

Any way my point is so much goes into it, blog design, rejection letters, marketing and the big one content creation. Since I'm asked very often about how to start a blog or if its easy or not, I decided to share a few things that I wished I knew before starting a blog. So here you have it, these are some things I wish I knew before I started this little space.

  2. This was so awesome! Blogging requires a lot of time and dedication! For me, I see it as a learning aspect. I always learn from others and they learn from me. I get to try products from companies and share my thoughts with my readers. That's how blogging has helped me. It's work, but so fulfilling.

  3. Amen, girl! I was nodding the whole way through! I feel like I've been at this for so long and I'm not really where I want to be. The comparison thing really bites. Like you said we just have to be true to ourselves, blog because we enjoy it, and if we hope to grow a following, we have to be really committed to it. :)

    1. Trust me I was majorly suffering from the comparison bug too, but now I am just focused on doing my own thing. Your blog is so amazing though, you have been so consistent with amazing original content, you have to pat yourself on the back for that.

  6. I can't agree more. I've actually burned myself out a few times spending 12+ hours a day on my blog. It has to payoff sometime right?
