In a world where women have more power than ever before and we loving it , in a world where men feel inadequate, in a world of technology, in a world of no time to even phone loved ones .... where has romance gone... are we to blame?? i think so ... are we lazier when it comes to love ?
So many us look at old couples and say oh how i long for that kind of love , but are we ever willing to work for it ...
Phone calls replace face to face conversations, status updates become how we communicate our joy and disappointments I'm far from pointing fingers, better yet ill point them at myself ... lazy for love and in the same breathe craving this love...
My opinion is men feel powerless even if they don't say it and women feel like they missing a chunk of that romance and it seems like a fairy tale that will not happen,maybe not the feminists ... but i know i feel that way ... #confession from a closet romantic .
My late grand dad would tell me countless of times a man needs to fetch you from your home by knocking on your door , reality is these days we will meet the guys at the restaurant or coffee shop unless we staying together and well in that case both of us will exiting the home together...
Example of true romance Winston Churchills letter to his wife , they wrote whenever they were apart
“My darling Clemmie, in your letter from Madras you wrote some words very dear to me, about having enriched your life. I cannot tell you what pleasure this gave me, because I always feel so overwhelmingly in your debt, if there can be accounts in love…What it has been to me to live all these years in your heart and companionship no phrases can convey.”
WHAT CAN WE DO ???
- romantic date nights : I'm talking dinner ,movies,get dressed up for each other.
- cooking together : play some Frank Sinatra light candles embrace the idea of stepping up your sparkle
- writing letters : even brief notes a quick "baby I love you" will stir up something
- Stop trying to buy love .. if love is for sale darling its not real
- do spontaneous fun things together , fitness junkies go hiking together carry a picnic basket and turn a normal hike into an adventure for love
- If couples could stop only being romantic when they just fought and just do something romantic because they adore one another.. romance would blossom and there wouldn't be any thoughts of hmmm why is he/she being so nice what did they do??
- play a game of "first time we met" rules are simple we don't know each other lets get to know each other ,you'll be shocked to see the tiny details you may have forgotten
I could literally go on all night want old school love ? its time to work for it ... Is any amount of time an effort put into love not worth it? the right kind of love lasts forever that love will carry you through all the storms ... I see it with my parents married for 33 years and counting.
