I am queen of whipping up concoctions for my hair, face and skin just read here , hair care is by far my favorite because who doesn't love shiny pretty hair , I have some tips that I'v learned from my mama that I thought I have to share , now why trust my mom? she has waist length thick luscious hair at 50 something. That's why! haha

Mayo mask :
Before you get all grossed out let me just say this has been a life saver in my life for years , you will smell like a salad but the end result is worth it , take a few dessert spoons of mayo and add a few drops of olive oil , cover with a shower cap and towel and in an hour (I sometimes leave it on for hours ) rinse it well shampoo condition as usual and your hair will be amazing .

Vinegar Rinse :
1 cup of white vinegar(I know people use ACV but I hate the after smell) in your final rinse water , this will clarify the hair from any product buildup and make it shiny ... hello!

Egg and brandy mask:
Add one or 2 eggs and a shot of brandy , I like adding some coconut oil . Leave it on for 20/30 minutes and wash hair as usual .

Your turn what is weird yet amazing hair remedies you live by ?

  4. I will definitely try these, I've heard of the mayo and the egg one but I'll be sure to add brandy to it!

I use a whole concoction with my shampoo because my hair is very thin - I plan on posting about the remedy I use later today.

Also when I was in primary school I put a whole bottle of lemon juice in my hair to lighten it (before I was allowed to colour my hair) and it worked but it resulted in my hair not having a good texture to it so I wouldn't reccommend that.

  16. I used to hate exposing my hair to egg white but I once I experienced the new found smoothness of my hair with egg-effect, I just made it part of my hair schedule.

  22. I've heard of the mayo before! And slathering on olive oil... I don't often do a deep condition like these though. I usually just load up on the conditioner in the shower and let it sit a bit longer and call it a day haha.
