The friend zone,food for thought..

I never used to like going from just friends to more ... until I had this epiphany, dating  a friend would be AWESOME  ... I mean you already know each other ,the good the bad and ugly what harm could come from it...

INCORRECT!!!!

Everyone always complain about the friend zone ... I often found myself really questioning it... until one day ... I started looking at a friend differently ... He was awesome ... years of good chatting ... laughs ... and I thought ... imagine dating a guy who really is like your good friend plus some wicked chemistry... so we took it past the friend zone...until he some what just vanished... like Houdini.. and our friendship vanished with it.

I think what people fail to understand and this has happened to me endlessly with my male friends everyone wants to move out of friend zone but... what happens when one party just doesn't "feel it" anymore ... does the friendship survive or is it more painful because you'd never quite think any friend whose known you for years would treat you like a stranger once you cross that line..  yes at times it can be amazing ... things can workout and in my 1 experience it was amazing .. until it wasn't... but what if it doesn't workout?

so my question this evening...

Is finding a partner in the friend zone worth it... and if so is losing a friend  the collateral damage we willing to pay??
