10 LESSONS I've learnt raising Matteo

10 lessons my 3 year old has taught me.

I swear raising a kid is one of those , every single day there will be a new life lesson, kind of moments.

Raising a 2 year old I thought oh here Comes the terrible twos. Lucky me I only experienced it for a week before his birthday in Portugal. Three, now that has been one hell of a ride and I am only 1 month in, lets just say the key to three is patience. Lots and lots of patience. I have first handedly witnessed him take 3 episodes of Blippi to finish one bowl of corn flakes and when I checked the bowl he had only consumed the milk. If we were chatting on whatsapp right now Id be inserting the women emoji with her wtf hands followed by face palm emoji.

But with that said I have learnt a few things in general so I decided to share it here for mom to be's, mommas and well anyone else ;)

February Favorites | Motherhood, skin care, fashion, meditation and more

It has been ages since I have done a favorites post/ round up, I have basically de-cluttered my life in heaps and bounds. So this will be an absolute favorites post. No muss or fuss, just the things that brings me joy.

Lets start with wellness:

Meditation has been the ultimate addition in my life. I listen to quite a few but my absolute favorite is this one. The body scan method is pretty new to me and absolutely helps me stay in the actual moment.

The reflections app. has been a great way to really narrow down the day, the highs, what you can improve on and so forth. It has made keeping a journal so much easier.

Fashion:

Capsule wardrobes have been something I am aiming to do with my obscenely cluttered closet.  I'm speaking simply looking into keeping or purchasing the basics, like the perfect leather jacket to the maxi dress you can wear dressed up or down. By the way I am obsessing over this River Island ankle boots, I have a similar pair that I bought in Belgium and they are my classic staple.

Skin Care:

At one point I had like my night stand over flowing with skin care products, oh the length I would go in to fight aging. These days I am simply into face wash and exfoliating followed by my current skin care favorite celltone tissue oil.

Motherhood:

As Matteo is getting older 17 months to be exact, I have found keeping him entertained is getting a little more tricky and even though pre- motherhood I was judge Judy about letting toddlers watch shows to keep them entertained I must confess I have become one of those moms. Don't get me wrong, we play outside, go for walks daily and keep the shows to a minimum but they do come in handy. His favorite is Noddy but it has to be Noddy in toy land.

There you have it my current simplified favorites, I have one major question what is something you can recommend? what is your absolute favorites this month?

Happy 2018... better late than never, right?

Hi my loves,

Happy 2018!!! I thoroughly enjoyed my blog and social media hiatus. I started having major anxiety about the whole thing. I am a true believer that breaks of all kinds, mental, vacations or simple changes can renew ones spirit. That's exactly what I needed. If you a long time reader you will know I became mom and I was trying to balance life in all its glory. But motherhood is not for the fainthearted and it really threw me off my game. Weight gain, lack of general oomph to name a few. But I am thrilled to let you know I made it through the funk. I feel renewed.

Hope your year has started on a happy note.

Sending love & light

Top tips for successful breastfeeding

So I absolutely love breast feeding but my first few weeks were not all that easy. Breastfeeding was pretty hard for me. From not having a milk supply to the sore cracked and painful nipples that occurred for weeks after. But once I got into it and had moved passed the first few weeks I was in heaven.

I was the crazy lady pumping and freezer stacking. I was all in. Since then I have been taking it a bit easier. So before I officially stop breastfeeding I decided let me share my absolute top tips with you.
My first tip is so so crucial, don't stress about not having a milk supply immediately. Its not a sure sign you will never have milk. I was one of those moms who had like zero milk for days post birth. I was given the option to receive an injection to help me produce milk (I can't even remember what it was) but 3/4 days later and I was on my way. So assuming you a breastfeeding mom these are some of my top tips for a blissful breastfeeding journey.
