February Favorites | Motherhood, skin care, fashion, meditation and more

It has been ages since I have done a favorites post/ round up, I have basically de-cluttered my life in heaps and bounds. So this will be an absolute favorites post. No muss or fuss, just the things that brings me joy.

Lets start with wellness:

Meditation has been the ultimate addition in my life. I listen to quite a few but my absolute favorite is this one. The body scan method is pretty new to me and absolutely helps me stay in the actual moment.

The reflections app. has been a great way to really narrow down the day, the highs, what you can improve on and so forth. It has made keeping a journal so much easier.

Fashion:

Capsule wardrobes have been something I am aiming to do with my obscenely cluttered closet.  I'm speaking simply looking into keeping or purchasing the basics, like the perfect leather jacket to the maxi dress you can wear dressed up or down. By the way I am obsessing over this River Island ankle boots, I have a similar pair that I bought in Belgium and they are my classic staple.

Skin Care:

At one point I had like my night stand over flowing with skin care products, oh the length I would go in to fight aging. These days I am simply into face wash and exfoliating followed by my current skin care favorite celltone tissue oil.

Motherhood:

As Matteo is getting older 17 months to be exact, I have found keeping him entertained is getting a little more tricky and even though pre- motherhood I was judge Judy about letting toddlers watch shows to keep them entertained I must confess I have become one of those moms. Don't get me wrong, we play outside, go for walks daily and keep the shows to a minimum but they do come in handy. His favorite is Noddy but it has to be Noddy in toy land.

There you have it my current simplified favorites, I have one major question what is something you can recommend? what is your absolute favorites this month?

Why my gratitude list is my sanctuary and why you need your own...

how to simply create a gratitude list | Meghan Silva & @meghanssilva

No one is ever positive 24/7, its human nature to find yourself chilling in your sorrows. I've been there, done that, worn and owned that T-shirt.This is where my gratitude list has come in very handy. Not only does it force me to acknowledge my blessings. It gives me the pick me up I need. Realizing each day I have 10 things that is amazing in my life is a real kick up the ass to not be a Debbie downer.

Its such a simple life habit. Yet it makes all the difference.

The best part is it doesn't have to be some huge fancy list. The daily blessings are just as important as the huge accomplishments. There is nothing too small to consider when it comes to being thankful.
This is actually the beginning phase of the law of attraction and manifesting ones dreams... But that's a post for another day.

So how do you go about starting your own gratitude journal?

Its all about exfoliation baby

I cannot live without exfoliation... There I said it!

Firstly who doesn't love soft skin, everything looks and feels better when your skin is freshly exfoliated. If you love that special glow you know exfoliation is your bestie for life!

This is my two essentials for daily exfoliation one is always in my shower and the other is pre-shower.

Can we talk dry brushing for a minute... Here is some interesting facts you might just absolutely love.

  • Dry brushing is amazing for reducing cellulite.
  • It unclogs pores and gets rid of all those nasty toxins.
  • It is amazing at energizing and stimulating the body.

I mean I can go on and on but seriously there is so much good about dry brushing, if you think I'm the only fan read fellow blogger Chereen share her thoughts. Another favorite of mine is the exfoliating hand glove. They are so convenient and It makes sure you get your skin exfoliated without any hassle.

Trust me you will loooooove it and if you a fan of exfoliation let me know what's your favorite way to do so.

Tuesday Tip : Rice for beauty???

The Brazilians have the best booty title and the Asian ladies win best skin.

Smooth healthy and always so even toned skin is seen on nearly every Korean woman. I needed to even have a little something that they were using which is why I started researching Asian skin care routines, ingredients etc. Lo and behold I discovered something that would help get my skin looking healthier and brighter. Now let me add this is not an over night miracle, you not going to go from looking 30 to barely legal but with consistent use this stuff is powerful!!!

Rice people!!!! That's all..

Rice water is my go to pre-cleanser and toner as of late, the brightening affects are amazing. Rice powder is amazing as a mask, it brightens your skin like a boss! and rice powder can even be used as a brightening powder to apply after foundation and concealer. Yip a complete 3 in 1 solution here.

Rice has vitamin B-6 , Calcium, Iron and magnesium.

Did you know:

  • Vitamin B6 is great for treating acne.
  • Magnesium is powerful as an anti wrinkle solution.
  • Calcium is a great antioxidant protection from DNA damage and aids in skin renewal.

Hope you enjoyed todays Tuesday tip, if there is a way you use rice in a unique way leave it in the comments below.
