A journey to the confidence sweet spot

Get your confidence back | Journey to confidence

Have you ever noticed that there seems to be a constant battle between getting older vs looking old? Then comes the next issue of growing old gracefully vs wanting to be forever young. I have noticed that there is such a fine line that distinguishes the women who wants to maintain some essence of her youthful self and crossing over to the women who wants to be in her late 30's rocking an overly botoxed face.

Then you have society that has a love hate relationship with the young teens trying to look older and the 40 year old's like Jennifer Lopez and so forth who seem to never age. (Anyone who hates on JLo is just jealous in my opinion)

I have always felt that I want to age gracefully, I never picture myself in mom jeans, designer bags under my eyes, teaching my future kids that once they came into my life, so my life ended. But does that mean I am the epitome of shallow? Bart and I seemed to bump heads when the topic came up. But, here's something I don't think guys seem to understand...

A women has to work a tiny bit harder at looking after herself, not only is it her body that changes once she has a kid or even just with age, but she also is meant to fear the idea that if she lets herself go she might not be desirable to her partner. I know confidence comes from inner happiness, but inner happiness comes when you know you are the best you can be. Which is very different from one person to the next. Finding that sweet spot is where you want to be. That's when you become truly confident.

I think we all strive for the point where we look good and feel good. Maybe your feel good vibes comes from being well read or being a master chef or even the girl who just got that yoga pose right that seemed like a distant dream. In the end we all striving for that zsa zsa zsu within ourselves and that is what gives you that amazing confidence. Correct me if I am wrong. I'm just sharing some Monday morning thoughts... Someone bring me some coffee already haha

Well here's a question have you found  your confidence sweet spot or are you like me and still on journey of self love?

  1. I'm still looking for that sweet spot... and I'm 36! My age doesn't bother me at all, because I don't feel it. But then I look in the mirror. What I feel and what I see are two completely different things. I am working very hard to get to that place where I feel okay with my reflection.

  2. I think the trick is to look great at the age you are rather than race against time :)

  3. I get what you're saying, and I agree, I've always wanted to grow old gracefully but I battle with the fact that a lot of the time people see me as so young.. Also, things like weight and bags under the eyes management are becoming more of an issue and I haven't even started having kids yet...lol

  4. These time and age I see stars embracing their age like Cindy Crawford snd Jennifer Lopez as welk as Jennifer Aniston. We should not see it we should accept it with confidence even though I do not put mind to it yet I know I will embrace it.

  7. We can't stop the time, but we can live everyday as if its our last! Then, those days when we feel down or old, we would have tons of memories and experiences to feel happy and complete.

  8. It's truly a fine line. You want to keep your wardrobe updated, but you don't want to dress too young or too old.

  11. It is such a balancing act- loving how you look - no matter age or size......easier said then done though.
I feel to each there own but hopefully we all can work on loving ourselves a little more. To often we are our own worst critics:)

    1. Yes way to often the most hate comes from ourselves. Couldn't have said it better.

  12. Great post! I've not found my sweet spot at all and I'm still very much on a seemingly never ending battle with my weight and self. I dont have much confidence in this changing any time soon!

  14. I'm not against cosmetic procedures in the least but I definitely feel like you have to wait for as long as you can before succumbing to the needle! I'm in my early 30's myself and have been agonizing over the appearance of fine lines...nothing a little makeup can't help, right? It's ALL about aging gracefully! Fantastic post love!

  15. What a lovely post :) I always think it's important too feel good in yourself. I know if I've taken the time to do my hair and makeup it puts me in a better mood, whereas if I leave the house looking like a hot mess I feel all grumpy haha! Think this is the case with most of us girls though :p xx

  18. I'm definitely still looking for that sweet spot! I think that as long as you take care of yourself (meaning be positive, exercise, eat well, don't stress), age doesn't really matter. Now if only I could follow my own advice ;)

  20. I think there is nothing we can do but embrace our age and it really doesn't matter how old you are as long as you are confident with yourself and you are happy :)

  21. I second you on ageing gracefully.. and both inner happiness and outer care are counterparts. A woman has to work hard on both these areas to age gracefully as after-all we all will get old so why not accept the fact !

  22. I think as you age what your partner desires in you probably changing - think about it like this - when you were 14 you thought 14 year old boys were cute - you probably don't anymore though!
